We can recommend Mr. DAVID WOOD with confidence as one who will perform his duties woll. He was in our office from 12th December, 1883, to 31st December, 1889, and was steady, clever and diligent. He was well up

in estimating, cost-keeping, stores, books and accounts, and these showed that he had taken a lively interest in investigating the technical details in the shops as well as the commercial portion in the Office. His books, etc., were always kept neatly, correctly and up to time. He left us of his own accord, and we were sorry to lose him. We shall always be interested to learn that his earoor is a successful one, as we have no doubt it will be.
